Keeping your browser current is important for two reasons:
1. the newer versions are likely to be designed to handle current web pages
2. the newer versions are built with greater security and protection

Firefox - excellent browser for this system - free

Opera - award winning software from Norway, also free, very versatile

Flock - browser and social networking tool - free

Windows PC only

If you are using Internet Explorer it is especially important to have the latest edition and well as the latest software upgrades. Microsoft attempts to solve security problems on a regular basis, but earlier versions may be exploited by spammers and others.

Internet Explorer 8 - recently improved with enhanced security, almost brings it to a par with the other available browsers. - free

Google Chrome - is a new browser from Google.This version is much faster than other browsers and offers a different and more efficient browsing experience. - free

Internet Explorer on the Macintosh - outdated and very buggy

Netscape 9.0 - Earlier versions are still available but Netscape recommends all Netscape users switch to FireFox or Flock.
